The annual thaw has commenced: Mariah Carey is defrosting, just in time for the holiday season.
The minute Oct. 31 came to a close, it was officially time for the queen of Halloween Heidi Klum to move over and make room for the queen of Christmas. Nov. 1 now marks the now annual tradition for the Grammy Award-winning singer, who takes on the role of Merry Maven as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the day after Halloween.
A video posted at midnight Wednesday on Instagram shows Carey, 54, being thawed out by people in Halloween costumes before she breaks out singing "It's time!" in her signature whistle tone, while the beginning of her smash holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas is You" plays.
Suddenly, we're transported to Carey's winter wonderland as she dons a Santa jumpsuit surrounded by people in Christmas pajamas, including her 12-year-old twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, whom she shares with ex Nick Cannon.
Carey captioned the post, "It’s…… TIME!!!" with a pumpkin emoji, ice cube emoji, Christmas tree emoji and the hashtag "#MariahSZN."
Carey teased the video earlier this week while debuting her Jessica Rabbit and Regina George from "Mean Girls" Halloween costumes, adding "#notyet" to both posts.

The "Obsessed" singer announced more dates for her Merry Christmas One And All! Tour on Monday, which kicks off in Highland, California on Nov. 15 and wraps up on Dec. 17 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
According to a news release from Live Nation, the shows feature a "timeless collection of holiday classics including the record-breaking mega-hit 'All I Want For Christmas Is You.'"
Tickets are on sale now. There are also VIP packages available, which include premium tickets, invitations to a pre-show reception, exclusive merchandise and more, according to Live Nation.

Carey has gotten some pushback on her Christmas fever in recent years, including a Texas bar banning her 1994 Christmas hit until Dec. 1 and a trademark battle over the title of "Queen of Christmas." In 2022, Carey was denied exclusive rights to the title, as well as "Princess Christmas" and "QOC" after a trademark battle with Elizabeth Chan, a full-time Christmas and holiday music recording artist.
